'Lizzy' - Information Security Analyst, UK:

When I joined the company in 2023 straight from university, I didn’t have a clearly defined career plan. What I did have was curiosity, a strong desire to learn and an openness to seeing where opportunities might lead.

Starting my career in HR gave me a broad and valuable insight into the business. Working closely with teams across the organisation helped me understand how different functions come together to support both our people and our operations, and it gave me a strong foundation to build from.

Over time, I found myself becoming more interested in the security side of the business. Through exposure to different projects, conversations with colleagues, and involvement in governance tasks, it became apparent that this was an area I wanted to explore further. When the opportunity arose to move into an Information Security Analyst role, I didn’t hesitate to apply. The transition felt like a natural progression rather than a complete change in direction.

The support I’ve received along the way has been invaluable. From completing my CIPD Level 3 qualification in HR, to developing through initiatives such as the Draken Leadership Talent Programme, and most recently achieving my CompTIA Network+, the company has consistently invested in my development. That support gave me the confidence to step into a new discipline and continue growing my skills in a different way.
